Great value at the heart of Talca
The rooms at this hostal are close to hotel standards, let alone they mostly do not have en-suite bathrooms. Shared bathrooms are simple, but clean and spacious. My room was on the second floor, with very a comfortable queen-size bed even though it was a single room.
Breakfast is the usual eggs, toast, cheese and instant coffee, but all of adequate quality and nicely served in my room. This might have been an exception, though, since the breakfast room was all occupied.
The only downside is that the central location comes with a constant noise of street musicians, police cars and people from the street. As the windows do not properly shut (at least in 302), you'll have to live with it, or stay sonewhere else. I'd definitely stay again, though!
Note that they charge you 4000 pesos extra if you want to pay with credit card.

Full of ants
We booked through bookings.com. when we arrived they denied our booking and asked us to leave. Finally convinced them to let us stay and they tried to charge us $225 US when online we booked for $80 US for 2 nights. Our room was full of ants. At breakfast local Chileans got eggs but they refused to give us any. Would have been a better spot if they had not been so rude and had less ants.

Pésimo
Llegamos en la noche x un valor y al otro día nos están cobrando otro desayuno pobre , habitación horrible se escucha todo lo del lado de estacionamiento, baños sucios con hongos en las paredes camas con pelos y sábanas manchadas con sangre.lo único bueno que puedas rescatar es el estacionamiento.

Buen lugar
Había alojado aquí hace mas o menos 5 años, y debo decir que sigue cumpliendo con mis expectativas. Ideal para quien busca tener un buen descanso por la noche, en una pieza sin mayores pretensiones, para estadías cortas. Pedí una habitación single y cumple, una cama confortable, una tv (pequeña) y un gran silencio por la noche. El baño que me toco. si bien era pequeño, debo destacar la ducha. Muy buena presión de agua y a temperatura agradable. Desayuno buffet, con amplia variedad de opciones. Para volver!

Buena experiencia pero podría mejorar
Estuvimos una sola noche, ya que Talca fue nuestra pausa para continuar viaje.
El lugar está muy bien ubicado, céntrico y a la mano de distintos lugares.
Su personal es cordial y atento.
El desayuno estaba bueno, pero preciso, no continental ni buffet, más bien un desayuno de cortesía.
Toallas limpias, sábanas limpias aunque la funda de la almohada tenía un pelo.
Detalles que podrían mejorar:
Hongos en la cortina del baño (habitación 201)
Humedad en el techo de la habitación, pintura descascarada.
Aseo poco prolijo, ya que al llegar había un palo de helado a los pies de la cama.
Mesas del comedor inestables
El lugar está muy bien ubicado, céntrico y a la mano de distintos lugares.
