I had a very pleasant stay in this friendly family-run hotel. Decorated in the colourful local Tibetan style, the place has all necessary amenities including a restaurant and a bar, to make it a comfortable all-in-one stay. Located on the doorstep of the key attraction - Labrang monastery - and right in the heart of the old town, by the little picturesque creek, it is an ideal base for exploring the surroundings. The staff are super helpful and would be eager to make all necessary arrangements for you such as local drivers, etc. The hotel owner is a local Tibetan man, and if you are lucky and he is around (they have another property in the nearby Sangke Grassland) ,he would be generous with his time passionately sharing his extensive knowledge of the region and China in general. Feel free to ask for some suggestions and routes, as the owner and his Dutch wife also used to run a travel agency). And a small tip (based on my experience): give it an extra day or two for your body to adapt to the high altitude, to fully enjoy this special place!

A great option. Very helpful owner and staff right next to Labrang monastery. Excellent food in the restaurant, and the best coffee in Xiahe!

It was low season when I arrived (early May) so I was the only guests. The new owners don’t speak any English, but check-in and everything went smoothly. Rooms have all the amenities you need and were clean. Hotel is close to all the sights on walking distance including some good restaurants. I didn’t try the restaurant of the hotel itself so can’t say much about that.

The hotel is clean and the location is perfect. Near Labrang monastery and restaurants.

The location amd ambience are great. The room was cleand and made up daily. There were no bathroom glasses and it would be nice to have a video streaming service instead of only TV. Service suffers from a lack of spoken English, though that may change when the owner is back. With a little effort they can still arrange sightseeing and transport.
