カフェに入りました。
日帰りで出かけ、カフェに入り私はコーヒーとアプリコットのケーキ、主人はコーヒーを注文しました。
ケーキの一切れが結構、大きく、またコーヒーにはクッキーがついてきたのでお腹が一杯になりました。
日曜日のお昼どきにケーキの注文をする人はドイツでは普通じゃないのか(笑)、奥でウェイトレスのおばさんと男の人の話し声がきこてきて「(男)どんな奴がケーキなんか今、食べるんだ？」「(おばさん)中国人の女よ」のような会話が聞こえてきました。
おばちゃん。私、中国人と違います。日本人です(笑)。
お値段はクッキー付きコーヒーが2ユーロ、ケーキは2.7ユーロと思ったほども高くありません。
「ここで食べるの？持ち帰るの？」と聞かれましたのでTake outもできるのだと思います。

モノトーン木組みの美しいプチホテル
フロイデンベルクの中心Marktstrasseに位置する木組みのプチホテル。外観の美しさはもちろんのこと客室も清潔で居心地良かったです。ケーキ屋も営んでいて朝食のパンが美味しかったです。英語はやや通じにくかったです。宿泊料は驚くぐらい安いです。目の前に地元の人でにぎわう料理の美味しいワインハウスがあって夕食を楽しみました。

Service was subpar, room was top-notch
To start: the rooms are wonderful and tastefully decorated. TV only usable via apps...
There were problems checking in at the kiosk, so it took an hour before we could access the rooms.
Breakfast was very disappointing: we (5 people) were greeted with the words "Are you all hotel guests?" and only after inquiries were 2 additional rolls added to a basket with 1 roll. Eggs were not available for everyone, the honey was rock hard, and the jam, like the cold cuts, was very likely from a discount store. Even for €7.50, it could be better.
We will not return, but will book with the competitor across the street.

Nice once you manage to get in
We used the free Public Parking which is a 5 minute walk away at 50.89724, 7.87082
There is no reception at this apartment hotel and access is self-service using a machine attached to the front of the building. These set ups whilst good in theory, are in reality are prone to issues. We selected English and followed the instructions on the machine. The machine asked for a ‘deposit payment’ of EUR 160 and instructed payment by credit card. All major cards were shown as being accepted. We tried American Express but got a message saying ‘System Error’. We then tried Mastercard and got the same error. At this point we had to call the phone number on the machine.
The agent supposedly spoke English but we had to speak very slowly. Half way through explaining the problem he hung up on us!! We called again. The second agent’s English was not really sufficient to assist either without us using very basic English. He didn’t know what the error meant and seemed to be reading through a checklist. During the call, we wondered whether the problem might relate to us using UK credit cards. Fortunately, we have a Visa card on a French EUR account. We tried that card and it worked. We tried to explain to the agent that the machine did not accept non-EUR credit cards but he didn’t seem to understand.
The apartment hotel is new and has been beautifully renovated. There is a small shared kitchen/seating area on the ground floor (probably where the Coffee House used to be) with a snack vending and coffee machine (both requiring payment). We booked a studio and were given the ‘Nelson’ room on the first floor which had a small open plan kitchenette, dining and seating area. Oddly there was a coffee machine in the kitchen but no coffee provided. The room décor was light and modern with an airy feeling.
After finally accessing the room, we went to freshen up only to find there was no toilet paper in the bathroom!! We sent a text via Booking.com and also had a hunt around the common areas and found toilet paper in the lower ground communal toilet. Someone also turned up an hour later with 2 toilet rolls in response to our Booking.com message.
The accommodation was very nice but let down by the access. Had we not used a EUR credit card, who knows how long it would have taken to get into the building. Who really wants to go through this kind of hassle and stress on holiday?

Although the automated check in was not functioning, we were very fortunate to meet a very helpful person who kindly took care of all our needs👍
