Set 912 metres high in Léoncel, this bed and breakfast is a 10-minute drive from Le Grand Echaillon Ski Resort. You can relax in the garden’s small swimming pool or visit the Cistercienne de Léoncel 12th-century abbey. The rooms at La Vercorelle combine a contemporary and rustic style. Linked with the room’s name, each one is decorated with countryside-style accessories and also includes free Wi-Fi access. Homemade jams and brioche are featured on the continental breakfast at this B&B. After a glass of wine made from citrus fruits or nuts, the hosts can also prepare homemade specialities upon request. Free public parking is available on site and local activities include hiking and cycling. You may also choose to visit Vassieux-en-Vercors and La Chapelle-en-Vercors, both 40 km from the property. A magical place

We spent 2 weeks delicious in the cottage Vercorelle. The house is spacious, tastefully decorated (each room dedicated to an old craft has excellent bedding and a personal bathroom). And what about the extraordinarily equipped kitchen! Our little girls loved the pool and the garden, and so did we.
Isabelle and Catherine, our hosts, welcomed us with great kindness, availability and trusted us.
In the surroundings, the places for walks are numerous and varied.
We will come back with great pleasure.

Magical location, great hosts.

A really magical location at the summit of the pass close to the Cistercian monastery. We arrived as a family of six on bicycles and were made extremely welcome. We were helped to reboot and relax ready for the next stage of our journey. Really great meals with local ingredients eaten with the other guests. A really stunning place to stay.

SUPERB

Where to start? The location is fantastic, remote, romantic, with just enough passage to keep essential local businesses open, not enough to feel like you are on a tourism motorway. The house is unique, a real labor of love, impossible not to feel welcome. Very clean, comfortable, etc..
What sets this place apart? The people. The hosts are delicious, even more so than the evening dinner. I have never witnessed attention to people's wellbeing to this extent in France. Magic.
I will be going back, without any doubt. Don't change a thing (well, OK, the pool is an outside bath and I couldn't care less).

Que de mots qui nous touchent beaucoup.
Nous aimons que notre maison raisonne de ces pays si différents, et si nous pouvons faire aimer les séjours en France et dans le Vercors nous en sommes ravies. merci

Exceptional welcome. Arty and hearty Stay.

The house, bedrooms and meals are perfectly organised and nicely decorated. The house owners are very friendly and do everything to make you feel at home.
Leoncel is a tiny Hamlet including a monastry and a farm making its own cheese for sale at the local craft shop or the farm outside weekends.
A local restaurant serves lunches and drinks during the day.
Within 45' drive you can access many museums and towns to visit.
We would recommand:
- grottes de Choranche, exceptional exploration of caves with beautiful stalactites over 8000 years old.
- chutes de la Druise very refreshing 70m high waterfalls 30' away by car. Take your swimming truncs with you...
- some history and prehistory in Vassieux which is worth the 60' drive through the breathtaking crossing of the col de la bataille a Mountain pass halfway through the journey.

Accueillant, chaleureux, bien placé pour visiter le Vercors

Bien située pour visiter le Vercors, très proche aussi d'une station de ski nordique, cette maison d'hôtes est très chaleureuse par son décor et l'accueil des propriétaires artistes Isabelle et Catherine. Les chambres sont spacieuses, très propres, literie au top, décorées pour rappeler les anciens métiers. Catherine prépare des repas à base de produits régionaux excellents dans la superbe salle à manger véranda. Vous pouvez visiter l'atelier de peintre d'Isabelle et en décembre, janvier vous visitez la grande crèche provençale de Catherine qui montre les paysages et métiers de la région. A partir d'avril 2020, les repas se feront dans l'auberge en face, qui fera partie de la maison d'hôtes. Et puis vous avez la ferme en face pour vous approvisionner en lait, yaourts et fromages du Vercors. A refaire sans hésitation.
