We had a good stay at hotel Andra. It was a good location to walk many places. My family and I would stay there again.

Wasn't expecting...

…me some luxury hotel and that expectation came true. Not very nice room but clean. One problem was that the fan in the bathroom sounded like it was powered by a diesel engine, with defective silencers. The man at the front desk at check-in was positive but the woman in the breakfast room in the morning probably did not like work so much? Maybe she was just tired? The surroundings felt depressing but the proximity to the station is positive. Breakfast ok.

A WEEK WITHOUT HOT WATER

From the first night, we found ourselves without hot water in a family room. Throughout the entire stay, we received different excuses: that the mechanic was going to come, that we could shower in another room located in a different building, or that they would move us to two separate rooms between the first and fourth floors, something totally inappropriate when traveling with two small children.
Finally, they changed our room on the fourth day, but the problem continued exactly the same. The most frustrating thing was the staff's attitude: every employee we spoke with seemed completely unaware of the situation, forcing us to explain the problem over and over again without anyone offering a real solution.
The experience was pathetic and very frustrating. We were in Munich with temperatures above 30 °C and, even so, we could not shower normally.
Furthermore, we consider that this hotel has a rating far above what it actually offers; it has at least two stars too many. Its only advantage is the location, about 10 minutes from the Central Station. It also doesn't help that the entrance is located in an alley, something that is not apparent in the establishment's photographs.
Without a doubt, we would not stay here again nor would we recommend it.

Very convenient for the central station (Hbf), just a 5 minute walk from the south entrance. Looks a bit run down from the outside to the extent we were worried as we approached. However, once inside the staff were delightful and the twin room we had requested was perfectly ok. Decor a bit tired but perfectly comfortable. No AC but a fan was provided. The hot weather meant we needed to leave the window open and, being the first floor looking out onto the street, it was noisy.
In the heart of the Turkish district so some great food available nearby if you enjoy Near Eastern cuisine. There is also a DB drugstore next door.
Didn’t try the breakfast, which was €15 extra.
Bag storage available, but just in the corridor, so not particularly secure.
Overall decent value for a good location in Munich.

Do you remember Inspector Derrick?

The hotel is in an excellent location: central between Theresienwiese (where Oktoberfest and the Spring Festival take place) and the historic center. The rooms are quite spacious, the beds very comfortable (prefer the single beds to the double), and the breakfast is good. In general, the price-quality ratio is good. It must be said, however, that the hotel is vintage; it feels like walking into a scene from Derrick. The carpet should be changed, and the bathrooms redone (they are clean and tidy, but old). There is no air conditioning.
