Great Apartment

Loved this apartment. Clean, great location next to several metro and bus stops. Located in a more residential area, so quieter and more authentic markets, stores. Staff were very helpful, booked us a cab to get to airport at 4am. Kitchen was functional, but a bit sparse on condiments/soap.

Disappointing hotel experience

I had booked and fully paid for this hotel from January 5-9, 2025. However, due to severe snowstorms and extreme weather conditions in the Netherlands, all flights were cancelled and I was unable to travel to Spain during this period. I informed the hotel management as soon as possible and requested a refund—at least a partial one—since my inability to travel was due to circumstances completely beyond my control (no flights operating to Barcelona).
Despite my situation, the hotel refused any cooperation whatsoever and provided zero refund. I am extremely disappointed that they chose to impose the entire financial loss on me rather than showing any flexibility or understanding during a force majeure situation. This complete lack of customer care and refusal to work toward a fair solution is unacceptable. I strongly advise future guests to reconsider booking here, as you will receive no support if unforeseen circumstances arise.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry to hear about the frustration and disappointment you felt regarding your reservation, and we fully understand how stressful and upsetting unexpected travel disruptions can be.
At Aspasios, we consider ourselves a very human and understanding company when it comes to force majeure situations. We have well-established procedures in place, and each case is reviewed carefully and individually. This situation was no exception and was evaluated with attention and care.
On the day of your scheduled arrival, you contacted us from Netherlands to inform us that your flight had been cancelled and that, according to the information available to you at that time, there were no flights to Barcelona until the following day. As part of our responsibility, we reviewed this information and were able to verify that alternative flights to Barcelona were available, including options later that same day. We shared this information with you, along with the applicable cancellation policy for your reservation.
According to our cancellation policy, requests made outside the permitted cancellation window — particularly on the day of arrival — are non-refundable. While our exception guidelines do allow flexibility in certain cases, and we have granted refunds in other situations where circumstances were fully justified and documented, in this instance we did not consider it a force majeure case eligible for a refund without charges, as travel alternatives were available and arrival was still possible. During our conversation, you also mentioned that you could arrive the following day but preferred not to do so.
At the time, we clearly explained the non-refundable nature of the reservation, and you expressed understanding of this policy during the call. For this reason, we were surprised to read your later review and are sorry that your perception of the situation has changed.
We genuinely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and that we were unable to reach a solution that felt fair to you. Your feedback is important to us, and we will continue striving to balance empathy, flexibility, and transparency while applying our policies consistently.

Gorgeous view. Great neighborhood. Very quiet with windows closed. Cannot hear street noise unless doors open. Easy check in and responsive staff.

Excellent room. Clean and spacious. TV wasn’t working in main bedroom and no bath soap. Also, there is a day care in the adjoining building. Kids (and dogs) are outside and very loud in the morning. This is in the back of the building. Construction projects in the building start before 9:00AM so no sleeping in.
