Everything perfect!
My husband and I stayed in room no. 1 for 2 nights in February 2025.
The location of the hotel is perfect: it is located in a street in the center between Puerta del sol and Gran Via, with the corresponding metro stops, within walking distance. Being in the center the area is full of locals and life. The room, even if it overlooks the street, is totally soundproofed thanks to thick and heavy fixtures. Cleanliness is excellent, modern decor and equipped with every comfort. In the bathroom there are even make-up removers for women. The temperature is perfect, but in any case in the room there is an independently adjustable thermostat. The reception is also very nice and always clean, tidy and fragrant.
Self check-in is easy and convenient for those who, like us, arrive late in the evening and, unlike other facilities, do not charge a late check-in surcharge.
The only thing I would improve is the Wi-Fi connection that was not optimal every now and then, but it is certainly not a reason for negative reviews. After a lot of research I am happy to have discovered this hotel that is excellent value for money, in a city where accommodation (especially in the center) is very expensive. We will definitely be back!

DO NOT GO
The worst experience in accommodation. NEVER GO. We booked through booking and it said that the check-in time was at 3:00 p.m. (which is late but ok…). Our flight arrived at 7am and we needed to leave our suitcases to go to lunch and kill time until we checked in.
We arrived at 8am with our suitcases, after a 13-hour flight, very tired and very hot, and there was no one at the “reception” (a door). They also didn't answer your messages or the phone to be able to see what to do. We went to the Starbucks that is 1 block away, not knowing what to do. At 10am we had a very important meeting and we needed to be without suitcases until then.
We ended up paying a locker to store our things and we left.
When we returned to check in we entered the place with a code and when we carried the suitcases up 3 floors we found VOMIT at the door of the place. When they open the door, there is a smell of confinement, cigarettes and dirt that knocks you down. A non-existent reception. Very neglected and hot. We ended up going to a hotel because the situation made us very sick and on top of that the attention and treatment on the part of HOSTAL PIO CENTRO was terrible from the first moment on the phone.
They did not want to cancel our reservation when we requested it at 8am because they did not respond.
Everything is terrible, but above all the NO human warmth they manage.
Disgusting. And on top of that, they were left with the paid accommodation that they never returned. A service that we never take nor do we intend to recommend to anyone.

Good location, lousy room
The room is flooded by the radiation system on the floor. We used the tuallas as rugs since the floor was completely wet. There was no one to complain to. The beds have old sheets and pillows, they are itchy.... the bathroom has moldy places and is in poor condition. I don't recommend it. It's a coincidence that it's room 8, the one in the photo. It looks beautiful, but when you arrive and it's there, it seems quite the opposite. . It has an elevator on the middle floor, you have to go up and down the stairs. They don't say that anywhere.

Good ubication
Good location, the room was clean and for the type of visit we made, good access to the center and clean was appropriate, keep in mind that the reception is not always there so you have to take into account the information that the hotel sends you

Ottima posizione
Abbiamo passato 5 notti in questo affittacamere. Sinceramente dalle foto e dalle recensioni mi aspettavo qualcosa di meglio. La posizione è ottima a 2 minuti dalla Gran via e da Sol. La camera è ben isolata dagli infissi nonostante affacci su una via molto trafficata. La pulizia lascia un po' a desiderare e per due giorni non ci è stato rifatto il letto ma soltanto tirato su i lenzuoli. Non c'è nessun incontro per il check in ma verrete contattati tramite Booking per farvi avere i codici di accesso al palazzo e alla cassetta di sicurezza per ritirare la Digital key. Può andare bene per poche notti per una visita veloce alla città.
